	Luang Prabang The ancient town of Luang Prabang situated in northern Laos, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 and encircled by mountains. Luang Prabang is 700 metres above sea level at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. Luang Prabang is often described as the 'Jewel in Laos' Crown'. The majority of the city sights can be reached on foot, so getting a map and making your way to the many temples and streets.

Things to do in Luang Prabang :

Mount Phousi (phu si hill) :
it is the place that people go to Luang Prabang have to climb up. It's located on the center of the city and if you can climb the several steps to the peak of the mount you will see the charm of this city and the Nam song river.
Golden City Temple (Wat Xieng Thong)
Laos' most enchanting temple built in 1560.
Royal Palace Museum :
The museum is the former Royal Palace, and is filled with artifacts from the Royal family and the items inside are relatively modern, especially compared to the Wats in Luang Prabang town.
Kuang Si Falls :
Kuang Si Waterfall is a spectacular day trip.You can rent your Songthaew or bicycle to go theret. It's about a 40 minute ride by car or 2 hours by bicycle. There are a couple of ways to climb up to the top of the waterfalls. Besides the main waterfall, there were multiple waterfall tiers and terraces to enjoy.
Wat Wisunarat (Wat Visoun)
Built in 1513, this is the oldest temple in Luang Prabang

Pak Ou Caves
Formerly used for the worshiping of the River Spirit until Buddhism spread in to Laos. Frequented by locals for thousands of years, the caves can be accessed by taking a river boat some 25 km from Luang Prabang downstream
